Meet Chantell – The Face, the Fun, and the Passion Behind the Business

Chantell is the heart of Sensory Sensationz—a neurodivergent advocate, sister, godmom, and proud dog mom who brings energy, empathy, and over 15 years of experience to the world of autism and respite care.

Her journey started humbly in babysitting, children’s church, youth ministry, and camp counselling, and has grown into a lifelong calling to support neurodivergent children and youth. With hands-on experience in foster care, respite, daycare, and school-based settings, Chantell blends lived experience with professional expertise.

She earned her Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Guelph-Humber and became a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) during the pandemic, driven by a deep desire to understand behaviour through the lens of compassion and science. Today, she works as both an in-home Instructor Therapist and an Intervention Support Worker in the school board, supporting children with autism and intellectual disabilities—especially those navigating nonverbal communication or exhibiting challenging behaviours.

Chantell is currently studying toward her Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling at Tyndale University, and completing her internship as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). She’s also in the process of becoming a certified Full Spectrum Doula, continuing her commitment to whole-person care and advocacy at every life stage.

Her specialties include:

  • Supporting nonverbal and early communicators

  • Working with children displaying aggressive or high-intensity behaviours

  • Supporting neurodivergent children from early years to middle school

Her proudest moment? Helping a nonverbal client find her voice—and hearing her say “hi!” for the first time.

In her downtime, you can find Chantell watching movies, playing guitar, or dreaming big about the future: opening a charity-based counselling centre and a physical home base for Sensory Sensationz—a place where neurodivergent kids and their families can feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
